Recording
Pristine tracking is first and foremost. I go out of my way to capture every detail in the music, by choosing the right gear and mic placement. That said, my mission is to record a great performance, so I strive to create an environment that allows the artist to deliver that performance without worrying about the studio or the equipment.
Whether tracking in the studio or recording on location, my standards are equally high, and that makes everything easier in the stages that follow.
Producing
I take the time to understand the artist I am working with, so I can help deliver their vision. From preproduction to final mixing, I pour my heart and soul into every project, and don’t rest until it’s completed by deadline, under budget, and to my client’s satisfaction.
If you are a self contained act, I focus on your strengths. If you need session players, I have worked with the area’s top musicians for many years, and can put together the right team. In addition, my guitar work is always included in my services.
Mixing
Mixing is a high art, and can make or break a project. In today’s digital distribution environment it is more important than ever to sound warm, punchy and clear while adhering to platform specs. My many years of experience with hundreds of records come in handy in achieving high quality and radio ready mixes, without sacrificing the artistic integrity of the music.
Guitar Work
With over four decades of session work under my belt, I am at home in most musical genres. My large collection of guitars, amps, and effects allow me to provide many creative options in the studio. Whether I am playing a screaming solo on a Les Paul, a funky rhythm on a Strat, or a pretty nylon string part, I keep an open musical mind, guided by tone, pocket and taste.
Niko Lyras
